Description
This Flower Ottchil Moon Jar is a unique piece, born from the collaborative artistry of two Korean artists. It is an exclusive creation available only through Migaam.
Due to the intricate, handcrafted nature of this work and the extensive time required for its creation, we are accepting a limited number of pre-orders for delivery in August. This ensures each piece receives the meticulous attention it deserves.
This spring, we are honored to introduce a new and deeply meaningful series:
a limited-edition collection of Dalhangari (moon jars) by artist Jiyoon Yoo.
Jiyoon paints using natural ottchil—traditional Korean lacquer made from tree sap—infusing each piece with themes of healing and quiet restoration. Her work, like ours, believes in art as a gentle but powerful force to mend what life may chip or bruise.
Each moon jar is painted slowly, by hand, with wildflowers and grasses — no two are exactly alike. As in life, the smallest cracks can carry light; and even the most overlooked surfaces can hold warmth, when touched with care.
In Korean tradition, the moon jar is a symbol of abundance and blessing. We hope this piece might carry something meaningful to you: a soft reminder of your own resilience, and a gift of beauty for your space.
Crafted from PLA by Eunha Seo, a plant-based material derived from corn and sugarcane, each moon jar is made with the earth in mind. This gentle material quietly returns to nature—breaking down slowly over time through the work of microbes, moisture, and air. One day, it disappears without a trace, becoming soil once again.
A vessel shaped for beauty, made to leave no harm.
