FULL MOON HAAP (Migaam Exclusive)
Description
A small lidded vessel, shaped by hand and held in the palm like a river stone.
Created exclusively for MATNAM, a Chuseok gathering at Park Club, this limited-edition HAAP was developed in collaboration with Bada by Korean artist Hun-Chung Lee.
Inspired by the full moon—a symbol of abundance, togetherness, and gratitude during Chuseok—the piece reinterprets the traditional Korean lidded vessel through a contemporary sculptural form.
Individually shaped by hand, each HAAP rests gently in the palm, its organic silhouette recalling a smooth river stone. A softly rounded lid bears a single thumb-pressed hollow, preserving a quiet trace of the artist’s hand.
The textured clay surface is finished in a muted olive-gold glaze, while the interior reveals a rich, glossy amber—a subtle contrast between earthy texture and luminous depth.
Each piece is individually made and finished by hand, allowing subtle variations in form, texture, and glaze. No two are exactly alike, giving each HAAP its own distinct character.
Produced in limited quantities, the piece is designed to move naturally between function and art. It may hold delicacies or treasured objects, or simply be appreciated as a sculptural presence in the home.
A quiet expression of Korean heritage and contemporary artistry, created to carry the spirit of Chuseok beyond the gathering itself.
